COAST 2 COAST

Congratulations are due to W. Bro David Chestnutt P.Gt.Std.B. and his sister Barbara who recently completed a sponsored walk.
Starting from St Bees in Cumbria they walked over hills and dales across the breadth of England to Robin Hood Bay in North Yorkshire a total distance of 190 miles.

David and Barbara undertook the walk in memory of their late father Dr James Chestnutt who had been a member of Appleton Lodge in Widnes with all monies raised being donated to the Stroke Association.

The total monies raised, after allowing for the gift aid tax element, will be just over £9000.00 a remarkable figure, above all expectations, and one that include a lodge donation from TI Lebanon Mark lodge which was matched by a donation from our Mark Charities.

Certainly this was not a casual stroll but one that needed both fitness and dedication to support such a worthy cause, congratulations all round to both of them.
