COAST 2 COAST |
Congratulations are due to W. Bro David Chestnutt P.Gt.Std.B. and his sister Barbara who recently completed a sponsored walk. Starting from St Bees in Cumbria they walked over hills and dales across the breadth of England to Robin Hood Bay in North Yorkshire a total distance of 190 miles. |
David and Barbara undertook the walk in memory of their late father Dr James Chestnutt who had been a member of Appleton Lodge in Widnes with all monies raised being donated to the Stroke Association. |
The total monies raised, after allowing for the gift aid tax element, will be just over £9000.00 a remarkable figure, above all expectations, and one that include a lodge donation from TI Lebanon Mark lodge which was matched by a donation from our Mark Charities. |
Certainly this was not a casual stroll but one that needed both fitness and dedication to support such a worthy cause, congratulations all round to both of them. |
